APPOINTMENT TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES.
The Premier's Report was adopted.
WILLS, PROBATE AND ADMINISTRATION (AMENDMENT) BILL 1988.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Wills,
Probate and Administration (Amendment) Bill, 1988, as
summarised in Cabinet Minute 88-28, dated 22nd April,
1988, submitted by the Attorney General in relation to
this matter.
EDUCATION AND PUBLIC INSTRUCTION (AMENDMENT) BILL, 1988.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Education
and Public Instruction (Amendment) Bill, 1988, as
summarised in Cabinet Minute 88-29, dated 22nd April,
1988, submitted by the Minister for Education and Youth
Affairs in relation to this matter.
CONSTITUTION (PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARIES) AMENDMENT BILL
1988.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Constitution
(Parliamentary Secretaries) Amendment Bill, 1988, as
summarised in Cabinet Minute 88-30, dated 26th April,
1988, submitted by the Premier in relation to this
matter.
CONVEYANCING (SALE OF LAND) AMENDMENT ACT, 1987.
Cabinet has serious reservations on the Conveyancing
(Sale of Land) Amendment Act, 1987, as it relates to
Anti-Gazumping provisions, due to take effect on 1st
June, 1988. It is impractical to change the Labor
Government's law gazetted on the day before the General
Election.
It was agreed that the inter-departmental Committee
established by the Minister for Natural Resources was to
monitor the implementation of the Act, and report to the
Minister on shortfalls in the Act at the earliest
opportunity.
