MOTOR VEHICLE PURCHASING CONTRACTS 1988/89.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 88-162, dated 25th July, 1988, submitted
by the Minister for Administrative Services, in relation
to this matter, subject to:* the review of motor vehicle purchasing
policy paying particular attention to:-
•
the impact of State preference
on costs;
the use of local dealers;
and
better terms being sought in future
contracts.
The Minister for Administrative Services is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision.
APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR GENERAL, DEPARTMENT OF STATE
DEVELOPMENT.
•
Cabinet approved of a recommendation being made to the
Governor-in-Council that Mr. Ian Kortlang be appointed
as Director General, Department of State Development,
for a period of two years, as proposed in Cabinet Minute
88-164, dated 25th July, 1988, submitted by the Deputy
Premier and Minister for State Development in relation
to this matter.
The Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development is
to take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including arrangements for the necessary
medical examination.
PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO VALIDATE LOTTO LICENCE, TO
FACILITATE THE INTRODUCTION OF KENO, AND FOR RELATED
PURPOSES.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 88-159, dated, 22nd July, 1988, submitted
by the Chief Secretary, in relation to this matter.
The Chief Secretary is to take the necessary action to
give effect to Cabinet's decision, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
