PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE DRUG MISUSE AND
TRAFFICKING ACT IN RELATION TO THE USE OF SYRINGES.
Approval was given to the recommendation contained
in Cabinet Minute No. 159-87 dated 8th May, 1987,
submitted by the Attorney General in relation to
this matter, including the preparation of the
necessary legislation.
The Attorney General is to take the necessary action
to give effect to Cabinet's decision.
DARLING HARBOUR AUTHORITY (AMENDMENT) BILL 1987.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Darling
Harbour Authority (Amendment) Bill 1987, as
summarised in Cabinet Minute No. 145-87 dated 8th
May, 1987, submitted by the Minister for Public
Works and Ports in relation to this matter.
PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO ESTABLISH THE PEACE TRUST.
Consideration of Cabinet Minute No. 128-87 dated
24th April, 1987, submitted by the Minister for
Finance, and Co-operative Societies, and Assistant
Minister for Education in relation to this matter,
was deferred until the next meeting at 8.30 a.m. on
Tuesday, 12th May, 1987.
APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN OF CORRECTIVE SERVICES
COMMISSION.
Cabinet approved of a recommendation being made to
the Governor-in-Council that Mr. Peter John Hackett
be appointed as Chairman of the Corrective Services
Commission for a berm of seven years, as proposed in
Cabinet Minute No. 160-87 dated 8th May, 1987,
submitted by the Minister for Corrective Services in
relation to this matter.
The Minister for Corrective Services is to Lake the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including arrangements for the necessary
medical examination.
