LEGAL PROFESSION BILL 1987, LEGAL PRACTITIONERS
(AMENDMENT) BILL 1987, AND COGNATE BILL.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Legal
Profession Bill 1987, Legal Practitioners
(Amendment) Bill 1987, and Cognate Bill, as
summarised in Cabinet Minute No. 123-87 dated 23rd
April, 1987, submitted by the Attorney General in
relation to this matter.
PROPOSED FURTHER AMENDMENTS OF THE HUMAN TISSUE
ACT, 1983, TO REGULATE PRIVATE BLOOD BANKS.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained
in Cabinet Minute No. 131-87 dated 27th April, 1987,
submitted by the Minister for Health, and the Drug
Offensive in relation to this matter, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
The Minister for Health, and the Drug Offensive is
to take the necessary action to give effect to
Cabinet's decision.
APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRPERSON, LAW REFORM COMMISSION
OF NEW SOUTH WALES.
Approval was given to a recommendation being made to
the Governor-in-Council that Ms. Helen Elizabeth
Craig Gamble be appointed as Chairperson, Law Reform
Commission of New South Wales, her term of office
expiring on 30th June, 1989, as proposed in Cabinet
Minute No. 138-87 dated 24th April, 1987, submitted
by the Attorney General in relation to this matter.
The Attorney General is to take the necessary action
to give effect to Cabinet's decision, including
arrangements for the necessary medical examination.
