LEGISLATION TO IMPLEMENT IN NEW SOUTH WALES THE INTERNATIONAL
CONVENTION FOR THE PREVENTION OF POLLUTION FROM SHIPS, 1973
(MARPOLCONVENTION).
Consideration of Cabinet Minute No. 81-87 dated, 27th March,
1987, submitted by the Minister for Public Works and Ports in
relation to this matter, was deferred until next meeting to
enable discussions with the Minister for Planning and
Environment.
PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO AMEND CERTAIN ACTS WHICH ARE
DISCRIMINATORY TO THE EMPLOYMENT OF WOMEN.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 92-87, dated 2nd April, 1987, submitted by
the Minister for Industrial Relations, and Employment, in
relation to this matter, including the preparation of the
necessary legislation.
The Minister for Industrial Relations, and Employment is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1919,
RELATING TO STATE-WIDE ACCREDITATION OF NEW OR INNOVATIVE
BUILDING PRODUCTS AND SYSTEMS.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 44-87, dated 26th February, 1987,
submitted by the Minister for Local Government, in relation
to this matter, subject to:the amendments agreed to by the Minister
for Local Government in her letter of
and
3rd April, 1987;

additional costs to be met from
resources available to the Department
of Local Government.
The Minister for Local Government is to take the necessary
action to give effect to Cabinet's decision, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
