CONSTITUTION (AMENDMENT) BILL 1987.
Approval was given to the provisions of the
Constitution (Amendment) Bill 1987, as summarised in
Cabinet Minute No. 88-87 dated 1st April, 1987,
submitted jointly by the Premier and the Attorney
General in relation to this matter.
TRANSPORT ACCIDENT COMPENSATION REFORM.
Consideration of Cabinet Minute No. 366-86 dated 1st
December, 1986, submitted by the Deputy Premier, and
Minister for Transport, and the Treasurer in relation
to this matter, was deferred until the next meeting.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE INDUSTRIAL ARBITRATION ACT,
1940, IN RELATION TO THEATRICAL AGENTS AND EMPLOYERS,
AND PRIVATE EMPLOYMENT AGENTS.
Consideration of Cabinet Minute No. 5-87 dated 19th
January, 1987, submitted by the Minister for
Industrial Relations, and Employment in relation to
this matter, was deferred for one week.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND
SAFETY ACT 1983 AND THE ASSOCIATED OCCUPATIONAL
HEALTH AND SAFETY LEGISLATION TO VARY PROVISIONS
RELATING TO PROSECUTION OF OFFENCES AND PENALTIES.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 87-87 dated 31st March, 1987,
submitted by the Minister for Industrial Relations in
relation to this matter, subject to:amendments proposed by the
Minister for Industrial Relations
in his letter distributed at
Cabinet on 7th April, 1987, in
which the Attorney General's
proposed amendments were
accepted. (Attorney General's
letter dated 6th April, 1987,
refers.)
The Minister for Industrial Relations is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
