PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO - UPDATE N.S.W. CONSUMER
PROTECTION LAWS.
Approval in principle was given to the recommendations
contained in Cabinet Minute No. 29-87 dated 20th
February, 1987, submitted by the Minister for Consumer
Affairs in relation to this matter, subject to:the availability of funds from Treasury.
The Minister for Consumer Affairs is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSUMER CLAIMS TRIBUNALS
ACT, 1974.
Consideration of Cabinet Minute No. 77-87 dated 26th
March, 1987, submitted by the Minister for Consumer
Affairs in relation to this matter, was deferred until
the next meeting to enable discussions between officers
of the Departments of Attorney General and Consumer
Affairs.
1987/38 RATING PROPOSALS BY THE METROPOLITAN WATER,
SEWERAGE AND DRAINAGE BOARD.
Approval was given to the recommendation contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 37-87 dated 24th February, 1987,
submitted by the Minister for Local Government, and
Water Resources in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Local Government, and Water Resources
is to take the necessary action to give effect to
Cabinet's decision.
