Cabinet decided that, in the event of the staff of
the State Dockyard objecting to the Government's
agreed settlement terms of 3rd March, 1987, the
recommendations in the Cabinet Minute are endorsed,
subject to:*
recommendations 4 and 5 being withdrawn.
Cabinet also decided that:if the State Dockyard is closed, then
the resources are to go to public tender.

the facilities are to stay in Newcastle
so as to provide maximum employment
opportunities.
*
a valuation of the site and installation
is to be obtained by the Valuer General.
The Minister for Public Works, Ports and Roads is
to take the necessary action to give effect to
Cabinet's decision, including the preparation
of the necessary legislation.
2.
PROPOSALS TO MAKE UNIFORM AND ENHANCED PROVISION
IN SUPERANNUATION FOR RETRENCHMENT AND REDUNDANCY
OF NEW SOUTH WALES PUBLIC SECTOR EMPLOYEES.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained
in Cabinet Minute No. 33-87 dated 23rd February,
1987, submitted by the Minister for Industrial
Relations in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Industrial Relations is to take
the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the
necessary legislation.
