PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE MOTOR TRAFFIC ACT
AND TRANSPORT ACT TO IMPLEMENT FURTHER INITIATIVES
ARISING FROM THE STAYSAFE COMMITTEE'S SECOND
REPORT ON CAR DRIVER LICENSING.

Consideration of Cabinet Minute No. 47-87 dated 2nd
March, 1987, submitted by the Deputy Premier, and
Minister for Transport, in relation to this matter, was
deferred until the next meeting.
TRANSPORT ACCIDENT COMPENSATION REFORM.
Cabinet Minute No. 366-86 dated 1st December, 1986,
submitted jointly by the Deputy Premier, and Minister
for Transport and the Treasurer in relation to this
matter, was referred to the Policies and Priorities
Committee of Cabinet.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS
ACT iq.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 35-87 dated 23rd February, 1987,
submitted by the Minister for Health, and the Drug
Offensive, in relation to this matter, subject to:consultation with the Attorney General
in the drafting of the Bill.
The Minister for Health, and the Drug Offensive, is to
take the necessary action to give effect to
Cabinet's decision, including the preparation of the
necessary legislation.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE EDUCATION COMMISSION
ACT, 1980.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 351-86 dated 25th November, 1986,
submitted by the Minister for Education in relation to
this matter.
The Minister for Education is to take the necessary
action to give effect to Cabinet's decision, including
the preparation of the necessary legislation.
