LEGAL AID COMMISSION (AMENDMENT) BILL 1987.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Legal Aid
Commission (Amendment) Bill 1987, as summarised in
Cabinet Minute No. 19-87 dated 11th February, 1987,
submitted by the Attorney General in relation to this
matter.
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE MOTOR TRAFFIC ACT AND
TRANSPORT ACT TO IMPLEMENT FURTHER INITIATIVES
ARISING FROM THE STAYSAFE COMMITTEE'S SECOND
REPORT ON CAR DRIVER LICENSING.

Further consideration was given to Cabinet Minute
No. 277-86 dated 16th October, 1986, and a paper
"Photographic Licences: Licence Fee Funding Options"
distributed at the meeting by the Deputy Premier, and
Minister for Transport.
Cabinet decided that:Option 2 is agreed in principle with
a variation to $50 for a 5 year licence.

the card issue cost is to he decided
in addition to one stop shopping.

existing licensees are to produce a
less stringent proof of identity
when being converted to photo-licence
cards.
The Deputy Premier, and Minister for Transport is to
report back to Cabinet with final proposals.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE ARBITRATION (CIVIL ACTIONS)
ACT, 1983.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 17-87 dated 3rd February, 1987,
submitted by the Attorney General in relation to this
matter.
The Attorney General is to take the necessary action
to give effect to Cabinet's decision, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
