PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE PESTICIDES AND ALLIED CHEMICALS
ACT, 1978, RELATING TO PENALTIES FOR THE ILLEGAL USE OF
PESTICIDES.
Consideration of Cabinet Minute No. 213-37, dated 23rd July,
1987, submitted by the Minister for Agriculture in relation
to this matter, was deferred until next meeting.
PROPOSED APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONER _AND _ASSISTANT
COMMISSIONER OF THE SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE.
Cabinet approved of a recommendation being made to the
Governor-in-Council that Mr. Robert Stanley Junor be
appointed as Commissioner of the Soil Conservation Service,
and that Mr. Warwick Arthur Watkins be appointed as Assistant
Commissioner of the Soil Conservation Service, both
appointments being for terms of seven years, as proposed in
Cabinet Minute No. 242-87, dated 26th August, 1987, submitted
by the Minister for Agriculture in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Agriculture is to take the necessary action
to give effect to Cabinet's decision, including arrangements
for the necessary medical examinations.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1919, (PART
VIIA) RELATING TO THE OPERATIONS OF THE NEW SOUTHWALES LOCAL
GOVERNMENT GRANTS COMMISSION.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 219-87, dated 27th July, 1987, submitted
by the Minister for Local Government in relation to this
matter.
The Minister for Local Government is to take the necessary
action to give effect to Cabinet's decision, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
