PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF CROWN LAND AT SOUTH BALLINA.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 211-87 dated 13th July, 1987,
submitted jointly by the Minister for Lands and the
Minister for Tourism in relation to this matter,
subject to:*
the provision of a two year lease.
The Minister for Lands is to take the necessary action
to give effect to Cabinet's decision.
MOTOR VEHICLE PURCHASING CONTRACTS 1987/83.
Consideration of Cabinet Minute No. 213-87 dated 14th
July, 1987, submitted by the Minister for Industry and
Small Business, and Energy and Technology in relation
to this matter, was referred back to the Minister for
further consideration.
PROPOSED APPOINTMENTS TO THE TWO POSITIONS OF
DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF THE STATE RAIL AUTHORITY.
Cabinet approved of a recommendation being made to the
Governor-in-Council that Mr. Robin Anthony Schwarzer
be appointed as Deputy Chief Executive, State Rail
Authority, for a term of seven years, and that Mr.
Kevin Eric Gill be appointed as Deputy Chief
Executive, State Rail Authority, for a term expiring
on his 60th birthday (14th August, 1989), as proposed
in Cabinet Minute No. 209-87 dated 10th July, 1987,
submitted by the Deputy Premier and Minister for
Transport in relation to this matter.
The Deputy Premier and Minister for Transport is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including arrangements for the necessary
medical examinations.
COALINDUSTRY SITUATION UPDATE.
Cabinet noted the information contained in the Paper
on the Coal Industry Situation Update, dated 15th
July, 1987, submitted by the Minister for Mineral
Resources in relation to this matter.
