PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO REDUCE THE COST OF THE SCHOOL
STUDENT TRANSPORT SCHEME AND TO ENABLE THE
RATIONALISATION OF BUS SERVICES.

Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 151-87 dated 6th May, 1987,
submitted by the Deputy Premier, and Minister for
Transport in relation to this matter, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
The Deputy Premier, and Minister for Transport is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision.
PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO PERMIT THE RANDOM BREATH
TESTING OF STATE RAIL AUTHORITY EMPLOYEES ENGAGED
IN SAFEWORKING AREAS AND ASSOCIATED MATTERS.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 157-87 dated 7th May, 1987,
submitted by the Deputy Premier, and Minister for
Transport in relation to this matter, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
The Deputy Premier, and Minister for Transport is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision.
REDUNDANCIES.
Cabinet noted the information contained in two papers
distributed by the Premier in relation to this matter.
APPOINTMENTS TO THE DISTRICT COURT.
Cabinet endorsed a proposal by the Attorney General
that Mr. William Deibridge Hoskirig, Q.C., Deputy
Senior Public Defender, be appointed as a judge of the
District Court.
