AUGMENTATION OF FORESTRY COMMISSION SOFTWOOD
(PINUS RADIATA) PLANTINGS ON THE NORTHERN TABLELANDS.
Approval was given to the recommendation contained in
Cabinet Minute No. 181-87 dated 15th May, 1987,
submitted by the Minister for Forests in relation to
this matter, subject to:funding from the Youth Employment
Scheme.
The Minister for Forests is to take the necessary
action to give effect to Cabinet's decision.
DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL INDUSTRY IN THE NORTHERN
REGIONS OF NEW SOUTH WALES.
Cabinet noted the information contained in the Report
on the Development of Rural Industry in the Northern
Regions of New South Wales dated 15th May, 1987,
submitted by the Minister for Agriculture in relation
to this matter.
CABINET APPOINTMENTS.
Cabinet considered the problem of major appointments
being made public before the approval of the
Governor-in-Council is obtained. It was suggested
that:

the medical examination of the
candidate be held prior to submission
to Cabinet; and that

the Governor-in-Council was to be
consulted to ascertain whether meetings
of the Executive Council might be held
forthwith when decisions on major
appointments are before Cabinet.
