DISPLAY AND SALE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.
Cabinet considered the report of the InterDepartmental Committee on Drug Paraphernalia and the
Options for Consideration outlined in the Paper
submitted by the Minister for Health, and the Drug
Offensive in relation to this matter.
Cabinet decided that the exisitng laws are to be
retained, but that a ban is to he placed on the sale
and display of Bongs.
The Minister for Health, and the Drug Offensive is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY CHAIRMAN, ETHNIC AFFAIRS
COMMISSION.
Cabinet approved of a recommendation being made to
the Governor-in-Council that Mr. Uri Themal he
appointed as Deputy Chairman, Ethnic Affairs
Commission, for a term of three years as proposed in
Cabinet Minute No. 170-87 dated 11th May, 1987,
submitted by the Premier in relation to this matter,
subject to a satisfactory medical examination.
RE-APPOINTMENT OFSENIOR CHAIRMAN, GOVERNMENT
AND RELATED EMPLOYEES TRIBUNAL.
Cabinet approved of a recommendation being made to
the Governor-in-Council that the Hon. Mr. Justice
Perrignon be re-appointed as Senior Chairman of the
Government and Related Employees Appeal Tribunal for
the period from 1st June, 1987 until 3rd June, 1989
(i.e., the day prior to his 70th birthday), as
proposed in Cabinet Minute No. 179-87 dated 14th May,
1987, submitted by the Premier in relation to this
matter.
NEW SOUTH WALES INVESTMENT CORPORATION (AMENDMENT)
BILL 1987.
Approval was given to the provisions of the New South
Wales Investment Corporation (Amendment) Bill 1987 as
summarised in Cabinet Minute No. 180-87 dated 14th
May, 1987, submitted by the Minister for Industry and
Small Business, and Energy and Technology in relation
to this matter.
