phjs Committee will be pleased if you will take
up with the Minister for Education the matter of establishment
of a High School at Kiama. It is understood that a site has
alrerdy been selected nd aproed.
A representative public meeting was recently held at
Kiama, which was attended by parents from all parts of the
district from Windang to Shellharb our. The meeting strongly
favoured the establishment of a High School at Kiama, as the
nearest High School existing is at Wollongong and necessitates
children travellIng long distances. The Wollongong High School
is very overcrowded,and it would appear that decentraUsation
of HIh Schools is essential.
The people of the district regard this matter as a
most important one, and this Committee considers the establIsh.
merit of such a school is a matter of extreme urgency.
