Following a conference between Mr. Inspector Gollan,
the Coord.inatirig officer, the District Architect of the Public
Works Department, the Area Supervisor, the Headmaster and the
District Inspector on the school site on the 12th August, 1954,
Mr. Inspector Archer has submitted the unanimous conciisions of
the conference, concerning additional requirements for 1955 and
the future development of the school.
A refised plan for siting of proposed new buildings
on the existing site has been prepared, but to facilitate the
proposal, it is desired that an additional strip of land adjoining
the site be acquired. The following is an extract of the District
iflspectors report.
"An additional strip of land - 1 chain wide be acquired
on the western boundary from Saddleback Road to Shoalhaven
Street. This additional strip of land would enable the
school property to link up with Shoalhaven Street, a
convenient entrance for pupils living on west of railway
line and between school and Terralong Street, Furthermore
it would prevent the construction of unsightly buildings
in close proximity to Block 1 and also provide opportunity
for further expansion without depriving the school of the

the planting of a suitable windbreak along the vulnerable
western boundary. Adjoining owner is Mr. H. Brown, Licensee,
New Brighton Hotel, ICiama."
Approval has now been given for you to be asked to take action
to acquire the additional land, one chain wide as suggested. A tracing
of the plan prepared by the Public Works Department is appended for your
information. It will be noted that the Public Works Department is being
asked to arrange for the erection of a standard fourroomed timber unit
for Home Science and, a manual trainig unit of six rooms for occupation
when schools resume in 1955.
For Secretary.
