If a school is not established at henwood
Park, the provision for an increased enrolment at South Wagga
will become essential. Alresdy,undersized unsuitable portable
rooms are in use at this school. The building of a new Infants'
school block at South Wagga would appear to be a reasonable
solution to the accommodation problem there, and a costly one.
If this project is to be implemented, early action should be taken.
The opening of a new school at Henwood Park appears to be a better
and a more economical plan. If such a school is opened, the
project to build a new infants' block at South Wagga could be
deferred in order to ascertain the effect that the new schools
at enwood Park and murvev Park have on llouth Wagcra enrolments.
Vith South Wagge school so close to the main
shopping rentre of Wacrge and situated in a busy thoroughfare,
endeavour should be made to divert pupil attendance from it,
rather than to it. The bringing of children there by heavily
loaded buses, should be discouraged. The children, as far as
possible, should be kept out of the city area. The buildinc
of a school at Henwood Park would 'be a step In the right direction
towards this decertraUzation.
Timber building would fit in well in appearance
with the type of homes being built at Henwood Park,,AN o agitation
for a palatial brick structure is anticipated from the young
home brilders and residents of the area.
