Dear Sir,
At the last meeting of the High School Parents
CItizens AssocIation concern was expressed at the proposal
to alienate a portion of the High School playground, at
'Testern enl., for the purpose of costructing

a roadway to
arry traffic from areas south of the School a1on Edmord m

It has been known unofficially that a roadvay
voaL. be constructed through the playing area and that portion
of Garland Street would be closed and added to the School
roperty.
It was, however, understood that this was to provic1
shorter route for general road traffic for residents close to
1r

with the present road traffic density, conditions are very
hazardous, not only for pedestrians, but also for the large
number of student cyclists, and these conditions are rendered
more acute by the present narrow overead

bridge over the railway
line which provides but 2 single vehicular traffic lines, no
opace for cyclists, and but one 4 ft. paved pathway for edestrLar:s
on the western side.
This bridge Is a very dangerous bottle-neck with very
eoor v3ibi1ity for all traffic and measures should he taken to
ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists either by wIdeniry
the bridge or providing an alternative crossing.
