-N....LION DEPT.
Tweed heads Public School Parents and
Citizens' --ssociation at its latest meeting instructed
me to Trite to you, pointing out that the school is
seriously short of teachers.
While we appreciate that your Department
probably is contending with difficulties in this regard at present, we would like you take into consideration the following points:
Fifth class has been lAthout a teacher
since the beginning of the year. The fifth class children
are divided between the fourth class teacher, ho has
53 puoile, and the sixth class teacher, who 11-is 59.
SecJnd class has been without a teacher
since September 19. The second class children are divided
between the first class teacher, who has 60 pupils, and
the third class teacher, who has 48.
These conditions are unfair, we consider,
both to teachers and children.
In addition, Tweed ileads is situated in a
hot climate, and stifling conditions obviously will
prevail in the over-crowded classrooms if the existing
arrangements are continued during the summer.
Yours fa thf
