The Committee considers the price to be acceptable
and that the project meets the requirements of this Department.
In the draft estimate for the 1960/61 Loan Programme
an amount of £175,000 has been allowed for this school with
a cash commitment of £170,000 during the year. In view of
the many secondary projects which cannot be proceeded with
at this stage because of the lack of funds, it is felt that
the actual cost should be kept down as closely as possible
It is considered, therefore, that
to the amount allowed.
the assembly hall should be omitted from the project for the
time being and considerad as a second stage in 1960/61
financial year. This would represent a saving of approximately
£40,000.
The Department is in possession of a site of
approximately 23 acres for this school. Portion was dedicated
