Sir *
I have to acquaint you that this Department has had
under notice your representations on behalf of Ar.T.11.2athews
of "The turrajongs",Eulamogo, requesting the re-opening of
the buninyong Public School.
Uf the 17 children mentioned in the petition, two,
(kr.'4.11.Davis 1 chidren) have been attending the DUbto School
and two kitzEeraldE; have teen enrolled at Eulamogo during
the fth4le of the current year, while the Buninyong School was
In operation.
of the remaining 13 children,8 have enrolled
at Dubbo since the e1-sing of buntnyong, and receive either
conveyance subsidy or free rail tickets. The distances
travelled by the children from their homes to the siding at
which they entrain are approximately the same as those
previously travelled from their homes to the school. the
remainder of the children, 5 in all, are at present not
attending any school, but they were not enrolled at Buninyong
when that school was in opration. All these families live
within Z miles of DubbD.
in the circumstances, as the educational requirements
of the locality are reasppably met by surrounding schools, it
is regretted that the Dtfartrrent IA unable to accede to the
recuest for the re-ppming of the school in question.
Yours faithfully,
P. BOARD,
Under Secretary.
