In answer to your letter of the 7th inst.
Taking into consideration the requests set out inyour letter I'm instructed
to advise you fully of the conditions prevailing at the Ozone Theatre now in
comparison to what it was prior to this company taking over the property./
Prior to the alterations being effected the sanitary arrangements consisted
of one W.C. (Pan Closet) for women with no wash basins , one W.C. for men
with 18 feet of urinal troughing.
Both of these lavatories were in a shocking state of repair and were rarely
disinfected.
we have built a new lavatory for men with one W.C. and 35 feet of urinal
btilt in accordance with modern conditions .
In the case of the women1 -6 conveniences we have provided three lavatbries
with the Hygeia Disolvenator System, in addition to this we have a pan
closet on the outside of the building.
Situated in the ladies lounge is a wash basin which we find by experience gets
very little use.
In view of all the circumstances we feel that it is unjust on the department's
part to ask us to spend a large sum when we have already gone to the expense
- of providing accommodation that in the local authorities opinion is second
to none in Broken Hill.
v We also desire to point out the fact that we only use one theatre at a time
either indoor or outdoor.
It also is necessary to mention that the capacity of both theatres has been
reduced since the alterations were effected.
nother point which we ask you to give consideration to is the fact it is not
ossible to alter the men's lavatory without acquiring more land, and this is
mpossible.
In conclusion we would suggest that you get the local authorities opinion in
respect to the service we have provided in this direction.
