OZONE THEATRE, BROKEN HILL.
The Department of War Organisation of Industry telephoned
on the 9th August stating that they had received an application for
expenditure in relation to the construction of lavatory conveniences
and their connection to the sewerage reticulation, and wished to be
informed whether correspondence had passed between this Department
and the licensee of the Ozone Theatre.

Mention was made that/communication receive by them Aset out
that this Department had issued instructions to provide the said
accommodation but that the Management did not wish to construct it
at this date as they contemplated building a new theatre.
It was explained that the case came under notice in 1937 but,
when the sewerage reticulation was available in 1943 and plans were
approved, this Department had not adopted the policy of forwarding a
copy of correspondence relative to approvals to the Department of War
OrganIsation of Industry.
After explaining the case, Mr. Waterhouse's Secretary asked
that they be officially informed of the circumstances leading up to
the approvnl so that they would be in a position to appraise the
case, and appropriately reply to the correspondence received from
Broken Hill.
It is now sugf:ested that the attached letter be forwarded to
Mr. Waterhouse.
