possession, under leases 331 and.W, of 80 acres north of this
school for the purpose of mining "beach sands"; that fifty p
cent of our pupils came from that area (coloured pupils); that the
"possession" appeared to include portion of our unfenced school
site; that elements of safety, damage and nuisance entered the
matter; that our Department might wish to raise objection; and
that 28th May, 1957 before 11.5 a.m. were the deadline date and
time before which suc- objection must be made.
Now, 28/11/59, something similar is taking place
and so far, I am unable to give the number of the lease-claim, nor
deadline date and time for possible objection before the Mining
Warden.
As I obtain 1:urther information, I shall pass it
on to you.
The attached advertisement taken from the "Daily
News" of 26/11/59 gives some indication of moves in this regard.
