Philip Mountbatten.
The gift of silver, if decided
upon, will be a simple one, but
of very fine craftsmanship.
A number of possible presents
is being examined in Melbourne
for the Prime Minister's Department.

November 20.
Federal Cabinet has several
gifts under consideration, but a
decision has not yet been made.
It was stated to-day that the
present would be a household
article of Australian material.
The Minister for External
Affairs, Dr. Evatt, will represent
Australia at the wedding, if 'his 1
commitments permit.
He left to-night for the United
States to represent Australia at the
preliminary peace talks on. Japan,
and he has then to attend the
meeting of the General Assembly
of UNO.
i His present programme takes
him well into November.
If Dr. Evatt cannot attend the
wedding, Australia will he represented by her High Commissioner
in London, Mr. Beasley.
