Dear gr. Vicars,
Following upon my interview with you in relation
to the supply of rugs and blankets of New South Wales manufacture
to be sent to England as a gift for Her Royal Highness Princess
Elizabeth, I am directed by the Premier to inform you that
Her Royal Highness has expressed the greatest pleasure in this
proposal, and particularly is she delighted at the suggestion
to supplement the gift with 200 pairs for distribution in
necessitous cases.
You have been good enough since to indicate that you
will supply three rugs as being part of this rift*
As the Agent-General for New South Wales, the Honourable
J.M. Tully, will be returning to England by air about the
8th November, and if at all possible the Premier wishes the rugs
to be taken to London by Mk.. Tully, perhaps you would be good
enough to endeavour to expedite the manufacture to enable this
to be done.
Your courtesy and assistance generally in this matter
is greatly appreciated*
'Yours faithfully,
S
Under Secretary.
