PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO RESTATE AND REFORM THE LAWS
RELATING TO INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-104, dated 27th April, 1990, submitted
by the Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment,
in relation to this matter; subject to:matters of interpretation (as opposed to
clarification of Industrial Relations Commission
rulings) remaining with the Industrial Court;
reinstatement simpliciter matters remaining with
the Industrial Court, but reinstatement matters
that are part of a broader dispute being dealt with
by the Commission;

amendment to conscientious objection provisions so
that a Statutory Declaration will be sufficient to
satisfy the onus on the objector.
The Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment is
to take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.

PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO FURTHER REGULATE THE FENCING OF
PRIVATE SWIMMING POOLS
Approval was given to the recommmendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-70, dated 29th March, 1990, submitted
by the Minister for Local Government, and Planning,in
relation to this matter; subject to:the provisions outlined in the Background Paper
presented to Cabinet by the Minister for Local
Government, and Planning, and agreed to at a
meeting of Ministers on 2nd May, 1990; and
the proposal to require a notice on display not
being agreed to.
The Minister for Local Government, and Planning is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
