PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO ESTABLISH A SINGLE LICENCE
REGIME FOR SERVICE STATIONS.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-61, dated 26th March, 1990, submitted
by the Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs, in
relation to this matter subject to:adoption of the amendments indicated in the
Minister for Business and Consumer Affair's letters
of 11th and 19th April, 1990, regarding
consultation with the Office of State Revenue and
the Attorney General in drafting of the Bill;
modification of the Bill along the lines proposed
in the Attorney General's letter of 4th April, 1990
and the involvement of his officers in the
drafting.

The Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO PART
1987.
7 OF THE FAIR TRADING ACT,
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-40, dated 15th March, 1990, submitted
by the Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs, in
relation to this matter, subject to:further refinement of the Draft Code to be carried
out in consultation with the Attorney General, the
Minister for Natural Resources, the Minister for
Administrative Services, and sponsoring
associations;
the "revised" Draft Code being reported back to
Cabinet at the Bill Minute stage;
the costs associated with implementation being
fully met by the Department of Business and
Consumer Affairs; and
a review of the performance of the Commercial
Tribunal after 12 months.
The Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs, is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
