PROPOSALS TO BRING NEW SOUTH WALES GOVERNMENT
ADMINISTERED SUPERANNUATION SCHEMES INTO FULL COMPLIANCE
WITH THE SUPERANNUATION STANDARDS LEGISLATION, AND OTHER
AMENDMENTS TO THE COAL AND OIL SHALE MINE WORKERS
SUPERANNUATION SCHEME.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-38, dated 14th March, 1990, submitted
by the Minister for Industrial Relations, and Employment
in relation to this matter, subject to:commencement of the power to amend by Regulation
being subject to:no response or a negative response from the
Commonwealth on the request to delay
compliance or to retrospectively comply; and
•
a ruling from the Insurance and Superannuation
Commissioner that amendment by Regulation
would result in effective compliance.
the imposition of a sunset clause on the power to
amend by Regulation itself and not just on the
Regulation so made.
the requirement that any proposed Regulations under
the power be foreshadowed to Cabinet in adequate
detail.
The Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment is
to take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
12.
PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO FURTHER REGULATE THE FENCING OF
PRIVATE SWIMMING POOLS.
Consideration of Cabinet Minute 90-70, dated 29th March,
1990, submitted by the Minister for Local Government,
and Planning, in relation to this matter was deferred.
The Minister for Local Government, and Planning is to
provide further information.
