PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE STATE DRUG CRIME COMMISSION
ACT, 1985.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-68, dated 29th March, 1990, submitted
by the Minister for Police and Emergency Services, in
relation to this matter, subject to:*

Recommendation 3.5. being amended to provide that
the State Drug Crime Commission may only make a
report on a Government employee if the matter
arises out of his employment, and then only to the
employee's Department Head, not to the relevant
Minister as is proposed (except where the employee
concerned happened to be the Department Head).
The Minister for Police and Emergency Services is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
ACT, 1983, WORKERS' COMPENSATION ACT, 1987 AND OTHER
ACTS.

Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-33, dated 8th March, 1990, submitted
by the Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment,
in relation to this matter, subject to:all penalties being payable to the Consolidated
Fund (Recommendation 2.3.);
Recommendation 2.2 being amended to provide for the
following two levels of penalties:- corporations ($25,000)
- individuals ($10,000)
as agreed to by the Minister for Industrial
Relations and Employment, and the Attorney
General.
The Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment is
to take the necessary action to give effect to
Cabinet's decision, including the preparation of the
necessary legislation.
