PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE LEGAL PROFESSION ACT, 1987.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet 90-278, dated 1st November, 1990, submitted by
the Attorney General, in relation to this matter,
subject to:Recommendation 3.1(b) being clarified to indicate
that clients can require bills to be itemised; and
Recommendation 3.1(e) being amended to provide that
the amount certified by the Fee Review Committee as
owing, is only to be evidence in recovery
proceedings and is not to be the basis of a default
judgement.

The Attorney General is to take the necessary action to
give effect to Cabinet's decision, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.

PROPOSED LEGISLATION RELATING TO THE OPERATION OF
BATHURST - ORANGE AND MACARTHUR DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATIONS.
Consideration was given to the recommendations contained
in Cabinet Minute 90-263, dated 22nd October, 1990,
submitted by the Minister for Business and Consumer, in
relation to this matter.
Cabinet decided that:the Bathurst - Orange and Macarthur Development
Corporations, were to be wound down;
the Minister's for Business and Consumer Affairs,
Local Government, and Planning, Administrative
Services, and State Development, are to consider
what role, if any, the Government should have in
terms of "identifying or banking" of land;
