PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO ENHANCE THE ENFORCEMENT OF MASS
LIMITS OF HEAVY VEHICLES.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-221, dated 21st September, 1990,
submitted by the Deputy Premier, Minister for Public
Works, and Roads, in relation to this matter, subject
to
amendments agreed to in the letter dated 17th
October, from the Minister for Public Works, and
Roads;
•
funds going into the Consolidated Fund; and
further discussions between the Deputy Premier,
Minister for Public Works, and Roads, and the
Premier and Treasurer, with a view to ensuring that
the money is used for roads, and also taking into
account the issue of appropriate incentive
structures for the Roads and Traffic Authority.
The Deputy Premier, Minister for Public Works, and
Roads is to take the necessary action to give effect to
Cabinet's decision, including the preparation of the
necessary legislation.
PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO PROHIBIT THE SALE, PURCHASE, OR
USE IN A MOTOR VEHICLE OF RADAR DETECTING AND JAMMING
DEVICES.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet minute 90-248, dated 9th October, 1990,
submitted by the Deputy Premier, Minister for Public
Works, and Roads, in relation to this matter.
The Deputy Premier, Minister for Public Works, and Roads
is to take the necessary action to give effect to
Cabinet's decision, including the preparation of the
necessary legislation.
