PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE POLICE REGULATION
(ALLEGATIONS OF MISCONDUCT) ACT, 1978.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-6, dated 25th January, 1990, submitted
by the Minister for Police and Emergency Services, in
relation to this matter; subject to:*
Recommendation 3.7 being amended to provide for
renewable terms of service for Police Internal
Affairs Branch investigators of up to 5 years, but
not so as to exceed 10 years in total.
The Minister for Police and Emergency Services is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
