PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE FAIR TRADING ACT, 1987.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-196, dated 5th September, 1990,
submitted by the Minister for Business and Consumer
Affairs, in relation to this matter, subject to:-

amendment of the Defamation Act as agreed to in the
letter dated, 25th September, 1990, from the
Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs, and;
*
the inclusion of a good faith provision in the
legislation (Paragraph 4.7 refers).
The Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
MISCELLANEOUS AMENDMENTS TO PETROLEUM (SUBMERGED LANDS)
ACT, 1982.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 90-230, dated 28th September, 1990,
submitted by the Minister for Minerals and Energy, in
relation to this matter.
The Minister for Minerals and Energy is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.
