The Minister for Police and Emergency Service's report
was noted.
ADOPTION INFORMATION BILL, 1990.
•
Approval was given to the provisions of the Adoption
Information Bill, 1990, as summarised in Cabinet Minute
90-166, dated 15th August, 1990, submitted by the
Minister for Family and Community services, in relation
to this matter, subject to:*
consultation with the Attorney General on drafting
changes;
*
no additional funds from the Consolidated Revenue
to be provided to shoreup the short-term shortfall
created by the excess of expenditure over revenue;
and
the guidelines governing delegation of
responsibilities of the Director-General,
Department of Family and Community Services,
to clearly specify that only senior officers are to
exercise discretionary powers under the
legislation.
