PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE WORKERS COMPENSATION ACT,
1987 AND ASSOCIATED LEGISLATION.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-212, dated 15th June, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment
in relation to this matter; subject to:*

the question of the "gate" being referred to a
Cabinet sub-committee comprising the Premier, the
Attorney General, and the Minister for Industrial
Relations and Employment.
The Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment is
to take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
APPOINTMENT OF THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL DEPARTMENT OF
HEALTH.

Approval was given to a recommendation being made to the
Governor-in-Council that Dr. Bernard John Amos, A.M., be
appointed as Director-General, Department of Health, for
a period of 5 years commencing on 1st July, 1989, as
proposed in Cabinet Minute 89-222, dated 26th June,
1989, submitted by the Minister for Health, in relation
to this matter.
The Minister for Health is to take the necessary action
to give effect to Cabinet's decision.
