PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE BUSH FIRES ACT, 1949.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-195, dated 12th May, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Police and Emergency Services in
relation to this matter, subject to:*

consultation with the Minister for Agriculture and
Rural Affairs, the Attorney General, the Minister
for the Environment, the Minister for Transport,
the Minister for Natural Resources, and the
Minister for Local Government, in the drafting of
the legislation.
The Minister for Police and Emergency Services is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO INTRODUCE UNIFORM TRADE
MEASUREMENT PROVISIONS ACROSS AUSTRALIA.

Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-154, dated 13th April, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs in
relation to this matter.
The Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
