PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE PURE FOOD ACT, 1908 WITH A
VIEW TO ACHIEVING UNIFORM FOOD LEGISLATION THROUGHOUT
AUSTRALIA AND FOR CERTAIN OTHER PURPOSES.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-102 dated 29th March, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Health, and Arts in relation to this
matter, subject to:*
consultation with the Attorney General in relation
to recommendation 3.6.
The Minister for Health, and Arts is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE EVIDENCE ACT, 1898 CONCERNING
CLERICAL CONFESSIONAL PRIVILEGE.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-156, dated 17th April, 1989, submitted
by the Attorney General in relation to this matter,
subject to:*
the Attorney General reporting back on amendments
to the Royal Commissions Act, and on consultations
with major Church leaders.
The Attorney General is to take the necessary action to
give effect to Cabinet's decision, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
