PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE ANTI-DISCRIMINATION ACT, 1977
IN RELATION TO RACIAL VILIFICATION.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-149, dated 14th April, 1989, submitted
by the Attorney General in relation to this matter;
subject to:*
the Premier reporting back on recommendation 3.7;
and the level of seriousness of offences in the
legislation.
The Attorney General is to take the necessary action to
give effect to Cabinet's decision, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
MISCELLANEOUS AMENDMENTS TO THE PRISONS ACT, 1952, AND
OTHER ACTS (BLOOD TESTING).
Consideration of Cabinet Minute 89-122, dated 7th April,
1989, submitted by the Minister for Corrective Services
in relation to this matter, was deferred.

WATER BOARD PRICING.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-143, dated 14th April, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for the Environment in relation to this
matter
Cabinet also decided that the 1989-90 increase in base
rate is to be 6.7%.
The Minister for the Environment is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.
