LOCAL GOVERNMENT (BUILDING REGULATION) AMENDMENT BILL, 1989.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Local
Government (Building Regulation) Amendment Bill, 1989,
as summarised in Cabinet Minute 89-145, dated 19th
April, 1989, submitted by the Minister for Local
Government, and Planning.
PROPOSALS TO RESTORE TRUTH IN SENTENCING.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-141, dated 14th April, 1989, submitted
by the Premier, Treasurer and Minister for Ethnic
Affairs in relation to this matter, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation, subject to:omission of the points system.
Cabinet further decided that:Option 2 - "Bottom up" sentencing be approved,
subject to consultation with the Attorney General
in the drafting of legislation.

the Discussion Paper submitted by the Minister for
Corrective Services, on Prison Discipline, be
approved, subject to the omission of appeals to the
District Court from Visiting Justices.
