BUILDING SERVICES CORPORATION
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-16, dated 3rd February 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Housing in relation to this matter,
subject to:there being no power of suspension of licences in
the Building Services Corporation;
•
the Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs and
the Attorney General to confer on an appropriate
mechanism for rapid court - based suspension;
the fines to be determined (Recommendation 3.29)
following a disciplinary inquiry shall be:$20,000 - by the Courts.
$5000 - by the Building Services Corporation.
the proposed Building Disputes Tribunal to be part
of the Consumer Claims Tribunal. The necessary
details to be resolved by the Premier, the Attorney
General, the Minister for Housing and the Minister
for Business and Consumer. Affairs. The Tribunal to
have a jurisdictional limit of $20,000 not $10,000.
The Minister for Housing is to take the necessary
action to give effect to Cabinet's decision, including
the preparation of the necessary legislation.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE FORESTRY ACT 1916 TO RESOTRE
LANDHOLDERS' ENTITLEMENT TO A SHARE IN TIMBER, PRODUCTS
AND FOREST MATERIALS ROYALTIES.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 88-168, dated 28th July, 1988, submitted
by the Minister for. Natural Resources in relation to
this matter.
The Minister for Natural Resources is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.
