PROPOSED LEGISLATION RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF
TRUSTEES TO THE CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS.

Approval was given to the recommendation contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-31, dated 14th February, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Health, and Arts in
relation to this matter; subject to:*
The Minister for Public Works retaining his
nomination to the Historic Houses Trust; and
The Premier retaining his nomination to the
Archives Authority to represent Government
Departments and Authorities.
The Minister for Health, and Arts is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.

PROPOSED REPEAL OF THE RURAL ASSISTANCE ACT 1971 AND
AMALGAMATION OF THE RURAL ASSISTANCE BOARD AND THE RURAL
INDUSTRIES AGENCY OF THE STATE BANK.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-110, dated 3rd April, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Affairs in
relation to this matter.
The Minister for Agriculture and Rural Affairs is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
