PROPOSED LEGISLATION TO FACILITATE COMMUNITY OR THEME
TYPE LAND DEVELOPMENT.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-46, dated, 20th February, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Natural Resources, in
relation to this matter.
The Minister for Natural Resources is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE RATING PROVISIONS UNDER THE
LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1919.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-66, dated, 7th March, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Local Government, and Planning, in
relation to this matter, subject to:* the 1990 figure in Recommendation 3.1 being
$3.00, not $3.50.
* discussions between the Minister for Business and
Consumer Affairs and the Minister for Local
Government, and Planning on discretion on rating.

The Minister for Local Government, and Planning is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
