PROPOSED
LEGISLATION TO CREATE A DUST DISEASES TRIBUNAL.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-91, dated, 21st March, 1989, submitted
by the Attorney General, in relation to this matter.
The Attorney General is to take the necessary action to
give effect to Cabinet's decision, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE RACING APPEALS TRIBUNAL ACT,
1983 AND THE HARNESS RACING AUTHORITY ACT, 1977.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-101 dated, 29th March, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Sport, Recreation and Racing, in
relation to this matter subject to:* the question of annual renewable appointments
being addressed in the instruments of
appointment, not in the legislation.
The Minister for Sport, Recreation and Racing is to take
the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE COMMUNITY WELFARE ACT, 1937
AND THE DISABILITY SERVICES AND GUARDIANSHIP ACT, 1987.
Approval, was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-82 dated 17th March, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Family and Community Services, in
relation to this matter.
The Minister for Family and Community Services is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
