PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE STRATA TITLES ACT 1973 TO
STRENGTHEN THE SUBDIVISION APPROVAL PROVISIONS AND TO
EXPAND THE CLASS OF ENCROACHMENTS RECOGNISED UNDER THE
ACT.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-12, dated 24th January, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Natural Resources, in
relation to this matter.
The Minister for Natural Resources is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.

ADOPTION OF THE BUILDING CODE OF AUSTRALIA IN N.S.W.;
AND AMENDMENT OF PART XI (BUILDING REGULATION) OF THE
LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-47, dated 21st February, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Local Government, and
Planning, in relation to this matter, subject to:*
the Minister for Local Government, and
Planning consulting with the Ministers
for Health, and Arts, and Education and
Youth Affairs, concerning the impact of
the Code on existing Government buildings.
The Minister for Local Government, and Planning is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
