RE-APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY CHAIRMAN, COMMISSIONERS OF
INQUIRY, UNDER SECTION 18 OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING
AND ASSESSMENT ACT 1979.
•
Cabinet approved of a recommendation being made to the
Governor-in-Council that Mr. William Simpson be
re-appointed as Deputy Chairman, Commissioners of
Inquiry for Environment and Planning, for a term of five
years, as proposed in Cabinet Minute 89-68, dated 6th
March, 1989, submitted by the Minister for Local
Government, and Planning, in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Local Government, and Planning, is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision.
TRAFFIC (PENALTY NOTICES) AMENDMENT BILL 1989.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Traffic
(Penalty Notices) Amendment Bill, 1989, as summarised in
Cabinet Minute 89-70, dated 10th March, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Transport, in relation to this
matter.

APPOINTMENT OF AN ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER FOR THE
INDEPENDENT COMMISSION AGAINST CORRUPTION.
Cabinet approved of a recommendation being made to the
Governor-in-Council, that Justice Adrian Roden be
appointed as:*
An Assistant Commissioner for the Independent
Commission Against Corruption for the period 1st
April, 1989 to 31st May, 1989; and
A part-time Assistant Commissioner for the
Independent Commission Against Corruption for the
period 1st June, 1989 to 31st May, 1991,
as proposed in Cabinet Minute 89-71, dated 14th March,
1989, submitted by the Premier in relation to this
matter.
