LOCAL GOVERNMENT (RATING) FURTHER AMENDMENT BILL, 1989.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Local
Government (Rating) Further Amendment Bill, 1989, as
summarised in Cabinet Minute 89-414, dated 15th
November, 1989, submitted by the Minister for Local
Government, and Planning, in relation to this matter.

APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR, MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT.
Cabinet endorsed a proposal by the Minister for the
Environment that Dr. Neil Shepherd be appointed as
Director, Ministry of the Environment, for a period of 5
years.
The Minister for the Environment is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including arrangements for the necessary medical
examination and Governor-in-Council approval.
