PROPOSED APPOINTMENT OF A PERMANENT CHAIRPERSON OF THE
RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES TRIBUNAL OF NEW SOUTH WALES, AND
PERSONS TO FILL CASUAL VACANCIES IN THAT OFFICE AND
RELATED POSITIONS TEMPORARILY.
Approval was given to recommendations being made to the
Governor-in-Council, in respect of the following
appointments, as contained in Cabinet Minute 89-314,
dated 18th September, 1989, submitted by the Minister
for Housing, in relation to this matter:-

Recommendation 3.2
Mr. Robert Browne to fill the casual vacancy in the
office of Chairperson of the Residential Tenancies
Tribunal, effective from 1st October, 1989, pending
a permanent appointee assuming office.
Recommendation 3.3
Mr. Peter Noel Berry to fill the casual vacancies
in the positions of Tenancy Commissioner, Strata
Titles Commissioner, and Rent Controller, effective
from 1st October, 1989, pending further
appointment.
The proposed appointment of Mr. Raymond John Collins to
the office of Chairperson of the Residential Tenancies
Tribunal of New South Wales (Recommendation 3.1), was
not approved.

The Minister for Housing is to take the necessary action
to give effect to Cabinet's decision.
