PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE REAL PROPERTY ACT TO PROVIDE
FOR THE DETERMINATION OF DISPUTE TITLE BOUNDARIES BY THE
REGISTRAR GENERAL.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-279, dated 22nd August, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Natural Resources, in
relation to this matter, subject to:-

inclusion of a provision to enable an Authority or
Government instrumentality to request a boundary
determination, notwithstanding that it is not one
of the owners. Proper notice provisions to owners
is to be a pre-condition of such determination.
clarification of the Registrar-General's power to
delegate such determinations.
The Minister for Natural Resources is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.

STUDENT EXCHANGES WITH SOUTH AFRICA.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-282, dated 24th August, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Education and Youth
Affairs, in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Education and Youth Affairs is to take
the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision.
